1995

Class One Dance Academy is born.

1997

First Ever Class One Dance Show – Rhythm of the Night and our first IDTA Examinations are launched at the studio.

1998

C1 steps out for their first Freestyle competitions. The Guild Association awarded C1 for best overall school in the Midlands and Gill was also awarded the Teachers Award Midlands Area.

2000

The Grand Opening of our 2nd dance studio based in Cannock Town Centre.

2002

8 Students WIN at the European Championships in the Rock & Roll Section. C1's Freestyle Teams, Class Act & Phoenix WIN their first European Championship title.

2005

Team Class Act & Phoenix Team have yet another WIN at the European Championships Class One are proud to announce a C1 Student receives an acceptance at Urdang, London.

2006

C1 are proud to announce one of our students is accepted at Laines Theatre Arts, London. C1 continue to gain results from major competitions around the UK.

2007

Gillian Wins Le Classique De Danse Award alongside her Team Phoenix. C1 Student Wins DISCO Kid title in the Street Category, C1 Student Cast in British Christmas Comedy Movie, Nativity.

2010

Team Phoenix Win World Championships Title

2011

Team Synergy win European Championships Title

2012

Class One are chosen to perform with BBC’s Strictly Star Pasha Kovalev and we continue to gain results from major competitions around the UK.

2013

A C1 Student is Crowned World Champion in the Freestyle Champ Section. Team Phoenix receive an Invite from the organisers of Le Classique De Danse Awards to cabaret their routine as the evening entertainment.

2014

Two C1 Students Win their section and crowned World Pairs Championships. 3 Students crowned tops of their sections/ overall winners at the Welsh All Star Championships.

2015

C1 Student crowned World Street Dance Champion, C1 Student accepted into Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA).

2016

C1 Students Showcase Rock and Roll at ITV Britain’s Got Talent, C1 Student Crowned British Slow Dance Champion.

2017

C1 invited to perform in Strictly Pasha Tour, Lets Dance the Night Away. C1 Student accepted at Expressions Performing Arts College (EPA)

2018

Gillian Receives a Carl Alan Nomination and making the top 3 professional coaches in her category. C1 Student makes Top 3 WORLD Slow Dance final at Premier Champ Level. C1 Student wins Summer School Scholarship with the World Lyrical Dance Federation’s in Ireland.

2019

Gillian WINS the prestigious Carl Alan Award. C1 Student Crowned British Premiere Champion. C1 Student makes Top 3 British Premiere Slow Dance Final.

2020

Second Hednesford Studio Opens. C1 Launch Online Home Tuition for students. C1 student receives a place at Stafford College to study Level 3 Performing Arts.

2021

Another C1 Senior Musical Theater Student receives a place at Stafford College to study Level 3 Performing Arts. U10 Intermediate British Championship Winners.

2022

C1 Senior gets accepted into Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA). Three C1 Students nominated for a festival CTD Award in the U16, U14, U12 Category. C1 student is the WINNER of the U12 CTD Award category.

2023

C1 Student selected to represent and perform Freestyle at the IDTA lecture day. 8 Students make finals at World Championships. Prem Champ takes top 4 at World Championship section.

2024

C1 student selected to demonstrate at IDTA Seminar C1 student nominated for the CTD Award (U12 Girl) C1 Student selected for lead role in the musical GREASE (Kingsmead)

2025

C1 student WINNER of the IDTA Solo Musical Theatre Awards 2025 C1 Student shortlisted to final 5 from 30 dancers - CTD Awards (U12 Girl) C1 Student selected twice this year - Judges Choice Awards (May & September) C1 student achieves Honours in all exams with 96% and 98% IDTA Bronze Musical Theatre C1 student selected on Nottingham University advanced contemporary and advanced jazz team for 25/26.
