Mini Movers

Style: Commercial, Street, Jazz, TIK TOK style Dance
The class is a combination of; TIK TOK style Dance, Commercial, Street, Jazz taught in an engaging environment for students of all abilities! Our teachers start with a full warm up followed by technique work, guiding young dancers into the next stage of progression. We choreograph fun and exciting dance routines for all capabilities and work hard to engage the interests of our young performers allowing their individuality to shine through.Children will take part in annual stage shows, giving them a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents. For parents, the experience of seeing their children confident and poised performing on a stage is unlike any other and one they are not likely to forget. Children will gain experience in each of these genres and have the option of progression through the Academy into different classes and advanced levels of tuition.

Junior Ballet & Theatre

Style: Ballet, Lycrical & Musical Theatre
This class involves learning the correct technique of musical theatre and being taught musical theatre style movement that is used on stage. The class is aimed at youngsters aged between 7-10 years who would like a taster of Musical Theatre. Students will gain a sense of achievement learning to express theirselves creatively and effectively through the fun of dance! Our experienced teachers choreograph exciting dance routines for all capabilities and work hard to incorporate the interests of young performers. Encouraging acting through song and dance this class allows our student's talent to blossom. Students are encouraged to create exciting characters and are taught to understand performance on stag. The class is fun and vibrant creating so much fun in our studio. This class is also twinned with our ballet session incorporating ballet & lyrical dance. Our students also get to perform in regular performance opportunities at the local theatre in Cannock. This class is also twinned with our Junior Ballet session incorporating ballet & lyrical dance.

Pupils will be introduced to the wonderful world of Ballet & Lyrical with a fresh and relaxed class etiquette. Children will focusing on development of coordination, strength, flexibility, and musicality. We will work with children to raise a level of independence and confidence during classes as well as fundamental Ballet technique whilst having fun in a calm but expressive environmentposture and poise whilst exploring their imagination and expression. We work to raise levels of confidence and self-esteem in each individual through a caring, positive and disciplined environment. Children attedning this class will also take part in annual stage shows, giving them a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents. 

Singing

Style: Pop & Musical Theatre In this class children will work on vocal technique, expression, projection, diction, harmonisation, ensemble, and solo performance. Children will also be taught improvisation, storytelling, characterisation, accents and acting through song. Combined with a Musical Theatre class, we aim for students to encompass all three disciplines of Dance, Singing and Acting. Our goal is to build confidence in performance and provide a platform for our students to develop technique, expression, and musical knowledge. Over the past term we have explored musicals such as, We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde JR, and The Sound of Music. We provide students with a broad repertoire of musicals from classic to current musicals, expanding students’ knowledge in musical genres, style, and history. If you have never sung before, do not worry! Most of our singing is in groups and nobody is ever put on the spot. Children do have the option to perform solo parts which can be supported with private coaching with one of our experienced teachers.

IDTA Freestyle Medalist

Style: Dance & Acro -  Freestyle is a popular form of dance in the UK today. It involves runs, spins, kicks and leaps, as well as many other diverse steps and movements with lots of arm and hand actions. The music can be fast and rhythmic or slow and sensuous, allowing dancers of all ages to use freedom of expression to enhance their style. In this class students will work towards their IDTA freestyle exams or just dance for fun. This is a great beginner class and stepping stone into competition.

IDTA Ballet Private Coaching

Style: Graded IDTA Ballet
Ballet has a technique which is the foundation of all dance. This classical style of expressive movement has something to offer everyone with IDTA ballet coaching available for pleasure or for the more serious-minded. This classical style dates to the 17th century and the conventional steps, grace and fluidity of movement are still found in Ballet today. Choreographers across the world have been influenced by composers through the ages. At Class One we can support with private coaching and IDTA Examinations. Private coaching is highly sort after and needs to be booked well in advance through the Academy office / Academy Principal.
