Schools and College Dance Sport Partnership
English, Math and Science classes are standard components of a normal school curriculum, but dance deserves a spot in the timetable too. Teaching dance in schools and colleges has significant benefits for children’s and young teens personal development and can offer many rewarding opportunities to positively impact students and the rest of the community.
Dance has a unique position as a curriculum activity that combines creativity with physicality. Through its use of non-verbal communication, students can participate in a way that differs from any other area of learning. It has been reported by the national dance teacher association that in a broad and balanced curriculum, this important area of human experience should not be neglected.
At Class One, we recognise the importance of self-expression and as a leading dance company, Gillian has been delivering tuition to Primary and Secondary Schools throughout the Staffordshire borough for over 17 years.
As a former SSCO, (schools sports partnership coach) Gillian’s objective has been to deliver high level dance sport into Primary, Secondary and local Colleges whilst ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience quality dance lessons that enhance them emotionally, socially and physically.
Gillian is qualified and experienced at the highest level, which enables her to be the first choice to deliver her dance specialist programmes and give any school a platform to make dance an important part of the school’s curriculum.
